With Ambrose now World Heavyweight Champion, the top of WWE has been shaken up and leaves a world of new possibilities. Add to that, a tense situation between John Cena and The Club and two former champions gunning to win back their WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and things look very interesting in the WWE right now.
Let’s take a look at 6 things that need to happen following Money In The Bank:
#6 Rebuild Rusev with a long unbeaten streak
Three months ago, Rusev looked done. The Bulgarian Brute was losing left, right and centre as part of the floundering League of Nations. This included getting thrown out of the Royal Rumble in 30 seconds.
Since the League of Nations broke up, Rusev has come out lean, mean and ready to go with his fiancé Lana by his side. After destroying Kalisto over the last few weeks, Rusev made Titus O’ Neil tap out last night in front of his children, who were at ringside.
Rusev looks like an actual Bulgarian Brute once again and it’s time for Rusev to go on an another long unbeaten streak to the title. Rusev has added a lot to his repertoire over the last few months and deserves a chance to fulfill his potential as a possible future main event level player.
#5 Returns and debuts to NXT call ups the roster before the brand split
A host of WWE Superstars have been injured in the last few months and they’re all getting ready to get back to action. With Seth Rollins already back in action, WWE has to get the likes of Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt back in time for the brand split to bolster the roster.
To add to the roster further, WWE should call up NXT talent who are ready for the main roster such as Finn Balor, Samoa Joe and Bayley to add further depth.
#4 Styles and Cena continue their feud
John Cena and AJ Styles met for the first time ever inside the ring at Money In The Bank. The match did not disappoint with AJ and Cena hitting each other with everything they had until The Club intervened near the end of the match to help Styles win.
The feud between Cena and Styles is hot and should continue following Money In The Bank leading up to further matches between Styles and Cena. Cena could take on the other members of The Club in the coming weeks leading to another match with Styles at Battleground and possibly a further match at SummerSlam.
#3 Roman Reigns realizes that he’s no longer unbeatable
Roman got pinned clean in a singles match last night for the first time in 4 years on the main roster.
Following this, Roman Reigns should realize that he’s no longer unbeatable and this could lead to heelish tendencies for Roman.
In the face of realizing that his opponents might have found the chink on his armor Reigns would now do whatever he could to claw and retain his position in WWE, including instances of bending the rules and ditching his squeaky clean image.
#2 Cement Dean Ambrose as the top guy
Dean Ambrose has long been the bridesmaid but never the bride. He’s come within inches of winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship without managing to succeed.
Until last night, he was the only member of The Shield to never win the World Heavyweight Championship, but all that changed when he cashed in on Seth Rollins to thunderous applause from the audience.
Now it’s time for WWE to cement Dean as a main event caliber Superstar with a dominant run till at least SummerSlam. Ending Ambrose’s reign quickly will only decrease Dean Ambrose’s value in the eyes of fans.
And let’s admit it, Dean deserves a run with the belt. He’s always been super over with fans and heads one half of WWE’s house show programs.
#1 Shield triple threat
This is the moment that fans have been waiting for since Seth Rollins hit Roman Reigns with the steel chair to break up The Authority. The trio are three of the top guys in WWE and now with Dean being champion, a Shield triple threat would be a blockbuster Battleground main event or even Wrestlemania caliber main event for that matter.
The match is even more anticipated after the historic moment in Money In The Bank where all three members of The Shield were World Heavyweight Champion in the space of 5 minutes.
The atmosphere should be electric and the trio will tear the house down. The three of them have always had great chemistry together and the storylines come together so well that no one expected the possibility of a Shield triple threat so soon.
Come on WWE, gives us this match.
