Dani Parejo (Valencia)
The Valencia captain has been ever present in a rapidly increasing outfit under Nuno Espirito Santo. The former Real Madrid man has improved leaps and bounds over the past two seasons since joining from Getafe. The 25-year-old is the highest scoring midfielder in La Liga this season with 9 goals.
Strong reports have been linking Parejo with a £20m move to Liverpool in the summer as a potential replacement for the departing Steven Gerrard. With still no caps for the Spanish national team, I’m predicting it won’t be long till Parejo gets that elusive call-up.
Grzegorz Krychowiak (Sevilla)
A real star in Sevilla’s push for Champions League football this year, the Polish international is up there with one of the best holding midfielders in the league. Signed for a mere £3m last summer from French side, Reims, Krychowiak has been an absolute bargain for the Andalucía club.
With Sevilla’s track record for being a notorious selling club, there will be a high chance of Krychowiak moving on soon with Arsenal apparently monitoring his progress closely.
Aymeric Laporte (Athletic Bilbao)
The 20-year-old centre half is looking the real deal at Athletic Bilbao and is on the radar of clubs across Europe. The highly sought-after youngster is known for his pace across the ground as well as his ability to bring the ball out of from the back.
A very comfortable ball player who could easily slip into a holding midfield role, Laporte has previously captained France at under-19 level and is currently in the under-21’s. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets called up to the senior side by the end of the year, especially if he gets a big money move away from the Basque Country.
Ignacio Camacho (Malaga)
Ignacio Camacho is a name that’s been around Spanish football for a long time now, following his spell at Atletico Madrid and his inclusion in all levels of the national team from under-15’s to the senior side in 2014. Camacho has excelled this season for ‘The Anchovies’ and is a main fixture in the heart of Javi Gracia’s midfield.
Criticised earlier in his career for not progressing in the way first predicted, Camacho is now showing his full potential in a strong Malaga team. Tottenham, Liverpool and Napoli all look set to fight it out for the signature of the 24-year-old.
Alberto Bueno (Rayo Vallecano)
Former Real Madrid graduate, Alberto Bueno has 15 league goals so far this campaign for Rayo ahead of both, Karim Benzema and Mario Mandzukic. Bueno notably scored 4 goals in one match against Levante alerting the likes of Southampton, FC Porto and Wolfsburg.
The Spaniard is out of contract in the summer so expect to here his name featured in many a transfer talk come the end of the season. Bueno was reportedly very close to making Vicente del Bosque’s latest Spain squad.
Jose Luis Gaya (Valencia)
Certainly one of the brightest young talents in La Liga after an impressive season which has seen Valencia dreaming about Champions League football once again. And Jose Luis Gaya is attracting serious interest from Real Madrid and Manchester City.
The Valencia full back apparently has a £13m buyout clause, but Valencia are eager to significantly increase this clause by offering Gaya a new contract at the club. Brought up through Valencia’s fine youth system, the 19-year-old has emerged as a first team regular, nailing down the starting position at left back. Gaya is also part of the Spanish under-21’s side.
