Whilst several finishers have been protected by WWE over the years, including Baron Corbin’s End of Days, there are some that have run their course and reached the point where several WWE stars have kicked out of them.
WrestleMania is usually the place where a finisher no longer has the same effect. The show has seen many finishers kicked out of for the first time, ultimately ruining their overall effectiveness.
Although WWE often doesn’t protect superstars’ finishers anymore, there are still several that have remained unbeaten over the past few years.
#6. John Cena’s WWE Lightning Fist finisher
John Cena has used several finishers throughout his lengthy WWE career, but both the AA and the STF were put on the backburner when Cena returned to WWE back in 2018.
The former 16-time World Champion unveiled his sixth move of doom, The Lightning Fist. The move allowed him to pick up the victory for his team over Kevin Owens and Elias.
A few weeks later Cena unveiled the move at a WWE Live Event. Once again, it was The Drifter who was defeated. Although this move has only been seen twice, it’s currently one that has never been kicked out of.
#5. Razor Ramon’s Razor’s Edge Finisher
Razor Ramon was an expert storyteller who was aware of how effective a finisher needed to be. Even though The Razor’s Edge has been incorporated into several wrestler’s move-sets over the years. When the move was performed by the man himself, it was unbeatable.
Throughout his career, Ramon would use the move in squash matches as an insurance policy. He only used it in high-profile matches if he knew he was going over. Back in Razor Ramon’s day, a finisher didn’t need to be kicked out of several times in order to show that a match was entertaining, which is why the move remains unbeaten to this day.
#4. Randy Orton’s Punt Kick WWE FInisher
Randy Orton has favored the RKO as his finisher for almost two decades since becoming a star in WWE. When The Viper became known as The Legend Killer, he decided to change up his move-set a little.
The Legend Killer’s Punt Kick sidelined many legends and was used once again just last year on the likes of Christian and Ric Flair when Orton returned to his Legend Killer ways.
The Punt Kick was a move that was banned for a while in WWE given it could lead to severe head injuries of delivered wrong. That didn’t stop it from becoming one of the company’s most effective finishers.
Randy Orton opts to use the RKO whenever necessary to end a match since the RKO can be hit from anywhere in the ring. When The Viper does decide to pull out The Punt Kick, it’s clear that the match is over.
#3. Aleister Black’s Black Mass WWE Finisher
Aleister Black’s Black Mass finisher was seen as one of the most protected in WWE for a long time. Black was able to use it to great effect when he first came up to the main roster.
The former NXT Champion defeated several big names in NXT with the move. However, it’s only since his move to the main roster that it’s been seen as a protected finisher.
Black defeated the likes of Cesaro and Buddy Murphy using the move. Even the commentary team knows that when the kick lands on target, there is no going back. Black is a striking master with a background in martial arts, so the fact that he’s incorporated this into his finisher could be why it’s become so effective.
Even though Black hasn’t been seen on the main roster since October last year, it’s likely that when he finally makes his return to WWE programming, his finisher will be just as effective as before.
#2. The Fiend’s Mandible Claw WWE finisher
The Fiend has been haunting the WWE roster since 2019. Every legend and every current WWE star who has fallen victim to The Mandible Claw has remained down for the count.
Bray Wyatt’s alter-ego has been able to end many matches with the Mandible Claw. He has recently managed to incorporate it into a move that also uses Sister Abigail.
The Fiend has defeated many stars with The Mandible Claw over the past few years. More often than not, he opts to use Sister Abigail first. If that move isn’t able to put his opponent away, he has The Mandible Claw in his arsenal to ensure he picks up the victory.
This could change at WrestleMania when The Fiend steps into the ring with Randy Orton. The two men will look to finally put their issues to rest. Will WrestleMania be the first time someone has been able to kick out of The Mandible Claw? Could The Viper be the first man to take such an accolade?
#1. Bianca Belair’s Kiss of Death WWE finisher
Bianca Belair was promoted to WWE’s main roster as part of last year’s WrestleMania. The former NXT superstar hasn’t always been used effectively over the past year.
It’s only in recent months that Bianca Belair has been pushed on SmackDown following her Royal Rumble victory back in January. She will now face off against Sasha Banks at WrestleMania.
During Bianca’s run in NXT, the former Crossfit athlete changed up her finisher several times. She made it clear that she had impressive upperbody strength. Since her promotion to the main roster, there isn’t a single woman on the brand who has been able to take her Kiss of Death finisher and kick out.
Whilst Belair hasn’t had as many matches on the main roster as several other stars on this list, it’s clear that WWE is making her finisher one of the most protected in the company.
It’s also clear that once Bianca Belair lifts you up for the KOD, the bell is already waiting to be rung in her favor.
