Barca are comfortably winning matches and steamrolling opposition without seeming to even break a sweat. To add some of these players to their squad now would make them a real force to be reckoned with next season.
Obviously a very rich side, Barcelona could potentially sign all the players on this list if they wished, but financial fair-play regulations would have to step in at some point if they didn’t balance the books. Either way, we’re sure that at least two of the players mentioned here will make the switch to the Nou Camp in the summer.
Things are only going to get better for the Blaugrana.

#7 Isco (Real Madrid)
Isco is a 26-year-old attacking midfielder who currently plays for Real Madrid in La Liga. He has also featured for Spain’s national team a total of 36 times, since making his debut back in February 2013.
Isco joined Real Madrid from Malaga in the summer of 2013 for around £27m. A clear illustration of just how much he’s improved since then is reflected in his market value of around £54m.
What could make this signing a possibility, though, is the fact that he has hardly played for Madrid this season and has found himself sidelined perhaps more than he would have liked.
Granted, much of the problems occurred under Santiago Solari’s reign as manager, and now that Zidane is back, things have begun to get better; but surely at some point, Isco will be wanting to have a fresh, new challenge, right?
Whilst moving to Barcelona is arguably unrealistic, there is still a big chance that it could happen. Isco is reportedly settled in Spain, so wouldn’t be interested in offers from abroad, which is what makes Barcelona an appealing prospect should he wish to leave Los Blancos this summer.
He comes with a price tag of around £54m, which is likely to be hiked up by Madrid out of spite.
#6 Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli)
Kalidou Koulibaly is a 27-year-old centre-back who currently plays for Napoli in Serie A. He has also represented Senegal 32 times since making his debut in September 2015. Koulibaly did initially play for France’s U20 team but ultimately decided to go with Senegal after four years with the former side.
Koulibaly is easily Napoli’s best defender and is arguably one of the best in the world right now, hence interest from the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona. He has featured in 26 matches for Napoli so far this season and kept clean sheets in 13 of them (50%).
Barcelona are right to be interested in the Senegalese giant, as he’d be a complete rock at the back, potentially replacing the ageing Gerard Pique to work alongside Samuel Umtiti.
The only thing that might put them off, though, is Koulibaly’s £65m price tag. It’s a lot of money to spend on one player, but with all he’s proven so far for Napoli, it could be a gamble worth taking.
#5 Allan (Napoli)
Allan is a 28-year-old central midfielder who currently plays for Napoli in Serie A. He has featured three times for Brazil since making his debut in November 2018.
Another Napoli player on this list, Allan is the polar opposite to the hulking Koulibaly; he’s quick, agile and can pick out a superb pass in the blink of an eye.
He joined Napoli from Udinese in the summer of 2015 for around £10m and has clearly done well for his market value has since soared to £55m.
At 28, Allan is now in his peak years as a midfielder, having both garnered experience and the wherewithal to outsmart his opponents. This is exactly the sort of player Barcelona could use in their midfield to replace someone like Rakitic, who isn’t getting any younger and has been criticised by fans for his sub-par performances as of late.
#4 Alberto Moreno (Liverpool)
Alberto Moreno is a 26-year-old left-back who currently plays for Liverpool in the Premier League. He has also featured for Spain four times since his debut back in October 2013.
Having only played twice for Liverpool this season, it’s clear that he’s surplus to requirements now. So then why would a team like Barcelona want a player who is nowhere near good enough to get into the Reds’ side?
TalkSPORT reported that Moreno is set to sign a two-year deal with Barcelona, with his contract set to expire in the summer. Safe to say, it’s speculation that’s come as a surprise to virtually everybody who has seen him play recently, for his erratic and error-prone performances have meant that he has no support for the fans for a reason.
Moreno, if he does go to Barcelona, is likely to be used as a back-up option to Alba. When all said and done, it’s a free transfer, so it’s not as if this is much of a gamble for Barca; if he flops, they haven’t splashed out cash on him; if he does well, they’ve saved a fortune in transfer fees.
#3 Luka Jovic (Eintracht Frankfurt)
Luka Jovic is a 21-year-old centre-forward who currently plays for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga. He has also featured for Serbia’s national team on four occasions, having made his debut in June 2018 at the World Cup.
Jovic, despite popular belief, is actually on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica. The confusion stems from the fact he has been with Frankfurt for two years now, but his parent club will be more than happy to take him back. When he was initially loaned out, he had a market value of around £1.8m; now, his market value has soared to £50m. Benfica will probably be eager to cash in while the iron’s hot, instead of using him and letting him turn cold.
In just 24 appearances for Frankfurt this season, Jovic has scored 15 goals and registered a further six assists. He is also the youngest player to have scored five goals in one match in the Bundesliga.
As well as being able to play as a centre-forward, Jovic can also be utilised on either wing thanks to his speed and strength on the ball. He also has a degree of trickery when a defender takes him on, which serves him well in the final third, as he doesn’t have to rely on teammates for service as often as other strikers might.
There’s no doubt that he would become a sensation at a team like Barcelona, especially with the support he’d get from the likes of Lionel Messi. And he has plenty of time to improve as well, which makes him a fascinating player to watch.
#2 Willian (Chelsea)
Willian is a 30-year-old right winger who currently plays for Chelsea in the Premier League. He has also featured a total of 63 times for Brazil since his debut in November 2011.
With the Brazilian now in his 30s, getting picked for the first team will become much harder than before. On paper, anyone entering this decade is on their way to retirement and set to be replaced by the younger, more energetic players vying for his spot.
At the moment, however, he’s still featuring in a lot of games for the Blues, with 27 appearances under his belt so far this campaign. But with only three goals and six assists to his name, there isn’t much to shout about. A player as key to the attack as he is should be doubling those stats at the very least by this point.
With that in mind, Chelsea could likely be open to offers for Willian this summer, and that’s where Barcelona come in. The club is eager to bolster their attacking options for next season, which is where Willian could flourish for them. La Liga is significantly easier than the hard-hitting Premier League, so it may be the ideal place for him to go next.
#1 Matthijs de Ligt (Ajax)
Matthijs de Ligt is a 19-year-old centre-back who currently plays for Ajax Amsterdam in the Eredivisie. He also plays for the Netherlands national team, having made 13 appearances for the first team since his debut back in March 2017.
De Ligt has been making waves across Europe for several years now - despite still only being in his teens. He has been a part of the Ajax first team since the age of 17, which is indicative of just how great a player he already is.
Defenders often reach their peak at 27-28, so the fact he’s managed to play as well as he has at such a tender age could mean that by the time he reaches his late-twenties, he’ll be one of the best in the world.
De Ligt doesn’t have a concrete value in the market at the moment, with figures ranging from £20m to £60m, so it’s difficult to know what sort of price Barcelona would be able to snag their man at. As mentioned before, Barcelona have an exorbitant amount of cash available to spend, but it depends on whether Valverde is willing to pay so much for just one player.
One thing is for sure, though; if De Ligt was to join the Barcelona defence alongside Kalidou Koulibaly next season, there’d be no getting past them.
