Unfortunately at the moment, it looks like fans will be waiting until at least 2022 for the new series to arrive, which means it will be a while before all of the burning questions from Season 1 will be addressed.

In the season finale of Only Murders in the Building, Mabel Mora (played by Selena Gomez), shared with Charles (Steve Martin) and Oliver (Martin Short) she felt there were some “loose ends” to tie up and audiences could not agree more.

Newsweek has a full list of questions that need answering in Only Murders in the Building Season 2.

1. Who Killed Bunny?

At the end of Only Murders in the Building season finale, Bunny (Jayne Houdyshell) was found in a pool of blood in Mabel’s apartment, with Mabel’s knitting needle sticking out of her back.

“It’s not what it looks like” Mabel cried out, explaining she opened the door to Bunny who just “stumbled in” and onto her floor.

If Mabel was not the one to kill Bunny (which seems unlikely), who did? Did they attack her in the hallway outside of Mabel’s apartment? Surely there would be CCTV footage? Was Bunny attacked elsewhere and left outside Mabel’s doorway as a threat? These are all questions that need answers ASAP.

One thing is for sure, things are not looking good for Mabel, Oliver, and Charles who did not always see eye to eye with Bunny and are currently the main suspects in her murder.

2. Did Jan Really Kill Tim Kono?

So, it does look very much like Jan (Amy Ryan) killed Tim Kono. She even spilled to Charles all of the details of how she poisoned and then shot him, framing his death to look like a suicide.

However, we only saw Jan be arrested, not charged or sentenced to any sort of time in jail. Only Murders in the Building is no stranger to twists and turns, so anything could be possible.

Speaking to The New York Times, Amy Ryan who played Jan also shared she was open to returning for Season 2.

She said: “Maybe Jan will be back, I’m not sure—someone will have to come bring her a cake in jail, I suppose. Jan can be in a cell with Selena or something, lose her mind.”

3. Is Bunny Really Dead?

Yes, Bunny was found in a pool of blood and with a knitting needle but was her death actually confirmed? No.

Bunny may survive her injuries and could live to tell the tale and help Mabel, Oliver, and Charles track down her attacker.

4. Are There Other Victims?

Jan confessed to Charles that Tim Kono was not her first killing. She then attempted to kill Charles by poisoning him and came so very close to pulling the trigger on Oliver and Charles.

Clearly, Jan is no stranger to murder and there is the possibility she could have countless other victims who were once Arconia residents.

5. Who Was Watching Jan?

Jan admitted to stabbing herself with a small knife to make it look like she had been attacked but was this a lie?

Additionally, she came across a note on her door which read “I’m Watching You” similar to the note that had been stuck to Oliver’s door earlier in the season. Could the person who was watching Jan be another murderer in the building?

6. Where Are The Dimases Now?

In Episode 8, it was revealed father-and-son duo Theo (James Caverly) and Teddy Dimas (Nathan Lane) were grave robbers, stealing jewelry from the deceased and selling it on the black market to make a profit.

They also covered up the death of Zoe (Olivia Reis) and framed Oscar (Aaron Dominguez).

The Dimases were arrested at the end of the episode thanks to Mabel, Oliver and Charles’ scathing expose in their podcast but where are the Dimases now? Teddy Dimas was a powerful figure in The Arconia and it may not be the end of his reign after all.

7. Who Text Oliver and Charles?

In the Season finale of Only Murders in the Building, Charles and Oliver received a suspicious text from an unknown number that read, “Get out of the building now!!!” Moments later, they found Mabel hovering over a dead Bunny in her apartment, leading to their arrest.

Who was looking out for Oliver and Charles? Hopefully, all will be revealed at the beginning of Season Two.

Only Murders in the Building is streaming on Hulu now.
