But that could change over the next few months. WWE’s stock price has increased significantly over the last year or so, and the company has posted profits, showing that it is still one of the biggest brands in sports entertainment.
2019 is going to be even bigger for the WWE as their new television deals with USA Today and Fox Sports will come into effect - a new era for the business.
We could also see several WWE Superstars leaving or retiring from the WWE in the coming months. Which Superstars may not be a part of the WWE in 2019? Let’s have a look.
Do tell us in the comments who you think will not be a part of the WWE in 2019.

#6 Kane
Since announcing that he would be running for the position of mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, in 2017, Kane hasn’t featured heavily on WWE programming.
His last match in the WWE was July 15th at the Extreme Rules PPV, where a reunited Team Hell No alongside Daniel Bryan, were defeated by Harper and Rowan. Kane sported a cast on his leg, which the WWE said was due to the attack by the SmackDown Live champions on The Big Red Machine, but his real injury was tendinitis on his heel.
On August 2nd, it was announced that Kane had won at the polls and is all set to become the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. This would mean that Kane will not have time for WWE appearances as he will have to work full-time in his mayoral position, and with him not being a part of any storylines (apart from tagging with Bryan which wasn’t for long), we may not see him in 2019.
Who knows, maybe the 51-year-old, who has been with the WWE since 1995, could retire soon and be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
#5 Primo and Epico Colon
It looks like the time is up for the two real-life cousins, Primo and Epico Colon, in the WWE, as they have rarely featured in the last year or so. Primo last appeared at the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble, which was won by Braun Strowman, while Epico’s last appearance on WWE television was way back in November 2017 at Starrcade in a 12-person tag match.
The former one-time WWE tag team champions last appeared as a tag team in a dark match in June of 2017 and has since wrestled only in multi-man tag matches on SmackDown Live.
The duo have since appeared in only multi-man tag matches and it looks like they do not have a future in the WWE.
#4 The Club - Gallows and Anderson
A recent report indicated that Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Shinsuke Nakamura and WWE Champion AJ Styles’ contracts expire in 2019, as their three-year deal which they signed in 2016 will come to an end.
While Nakamura and Styles, who are US champions and WWE champions, respectively, will most likely stay in the WWE, the tag team of Gallows and Anderson may not be a regular fixture in the WWE in 2019.
The report also indicated that NJPW would be glad to take back the tag team, an offer which they may take up as they have been underused and haven’t featured at the top of the tag team card in the last year or so.
Since switching to SmackDown Live during the Superstar Shake-Up, they had a brief feud with the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, but haven’t had much going for them. An exit from the WWE is imminent.
#3 Matt Hardy
Matt Hardy and his brother Jeff’s return at WrestleMania 33 got one of the biggest pops in recent WWE history. But, Matt’s ‘Broken’ gimmick has not got over with the fans and his tag teaming with Bray Wyatt hasn’t helped him much either.
He is still one of the most popular Superstars in the WWE, but his agility and speed in the ring have not been great in his recent run in the company.
And recently, Matt revealed an injury that he has sustained where his lower back has fused with his pelvis as his high-risk moves over the years has taken a toll on his body.
He’s hinted that this could be it for him and if it is, it will be a sad farewell to one of the legends of the business.
#2 Neville
The Cruiserweight Division doesn’t have too many high-profile Superstars since the departure of Enzo Amore and Neville. Neville, who is still under contract at WWE, hasn’t wrestled for almost a year, with his last match at a 205 Live show on September 26th, 2017.
There apparently seems to be a dispute between Neville and the WWE, and recent reports stated that Neville was back in the UK, with his contract being run down by the WWE.
This situation doesn’t look like it’ll change and WWE may release Neville in the coming months, which is a great pity as the English Superstar is one of the best in the ring in the WWE.
#1 Brock Lesnar
It is almost certain that Brock Lesnar will not be a part of the WWE in 2019. With him signing with the UFC and a mega fight against UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, The Beast is set to wrestle his final match at SummerSlam against Roman Reigns.
Lesnar’s UFC match will take place after he’s cleared by USADA, which will most likely take place in January 2019.
Recent reports have stated that Lesnar is interested in having short-term contracts with both UFC and WWE, which may see him stay with the WWE for a few more months.
But at the moment, Lesnar is all set to leave his second stint in the WWE.
